Introduction:
The purpose of this page is to document information about the temple in Jerusalem. The first house of YHWH was a tabernacle. The second house of YHWH was the 1st temple built by King Solomon. There is some dispute as to when the 3rd house, or second temple, will be built and by whom.

David was told by YHWH that his son (Solomon) would build a temple to HIM.

1And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.(KJV)

7And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:
8But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.(KJV)
9Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.

David was not allowed to build a temple to YHWH because he had shed so much blood in the land. YHWH told David that his son, Solomon, would build the temple.

YHWH told David that Solomon would build HIM a house (temple).
1Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.(KJV)

The BRANCH will build the temple of YHWH.

And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.' (KJV)

16And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy. (KJV)
